Pirate Hooker Tying Instructions

Bert here you go.  The original is tied on a bigger hook in black and purple but you can mix and match the materials as you like.  This version is tied more to represent a crawfish and on a smaller hook for smallies.  

Pirate Hooker - Bass Fly

Hook: TFS 5444 #2
Thread: 140 UTC Dark Brown
Eyes: Red Barbell Eyes
Tail: Rust Rabbit Strip
Flash: Copper Krystal Flash
Body: UV Polar Chenille Rusty Copper
Skirt: Brown/Orange Flake Crazy Legs
Collar: Cross Cut Rust Rabbit Strip
Head: Orange Swisher's Rub a Dub


Step 1: Tie in eyes.

Step 2: Pierce rabbit strip with hook.

Step 3: Remove hook, slide rabbit strip down and tie in.

Step 4: Tie in krystal flash

Step 5: Tie in chenille body, sweeping fibers back as you go.

Step 6: Cut crazy legs in half.

Step 7: Tie in entire half of crazy legs around circumference of hook.

Step 8: Tie and wrap cross cut rabbit collar.

Step 9: Make dubbing loop and insert orange rub a dub.

Step 10: Wrap head and whip finish.
Ready for some Pelican Lake action!!!!!!!  I bet it'd crush on Deer Creek and Rockport too.
